Opinion on wicca

Ok, so just curious so… Alright so I was thinking about how there are some people that feel very strongly against wicca, and I was juuust curious as to why. Of course there is the usual reasons etc etc etc etc etc etc but I just want people (those who feel strongly against it especially) to plainly tell me why you feel strongly against wicca, and also what you think you know about it, and also would you ever research it more thoroughly? Thanks

Answer #1

I meant don’t try to conform us. lol

Answer #2

jcrod, a lot of those things you said Christians would say are unfortunately what most Christians would say. I have a bunch of Wiccan friends and all of them are beautiful people following a beautiful belief. And this is coming from a Catholic (granted, a very unorthodox one).

Now, I don’t know exactly what to think of black magic, but, from what I understand, that is the one that is linked to evil. If that’s true, then I’m sorry that light and dark wiccans are smooshed into the same category.

I’m sort of a one-of-a-kind Catholic in that I think that most religions are beautiful and I can’t blame people for believing in them. My personal beliefs in God (whatever that means to you, I don’t know) are that even if you don’t necessarily believe in Him, yet do good for a reason, it’s just the same as doing it for Him.

Other Christians would disagree and even say that what I’m saying her is blasphemy or whatever, but I think that there’s a lot of truth in every religion, no matter what it is. What those truths mean in our lives is what dictates which religion we go into.

I believe that this life is a cracked and dusty reflection of God’s perfect world (heaven). You believe (I think, please correct me if I’m wrong) that life and everything in this world has some true, underlying beauty that just needs to be unlocked. Can you see the parallels? People need to stop looking at differences, step out of their bubbles, and see what everyone has in common. that’s why there are wars, that’s why there’s suffering, we can’t seem to coexist.

Peace.

oxygen626 pagan refers to most new age religions and/or belief systems, not a person who does spells. if you just do spells thats a witch, if you practice wiccan beliefs, your a wiccan, most wiccans do spells too, both of those are pagan beliefs. im not sure what you mean by if you do spells to others you become a pagan… an analogy I use is, theres christianity, then under christianity is a bunch of different “types” like baptist, catholic etc etc you get the point. christianity is a broad term kind of. now theres Pagan, and under pagan is witch, wiccan, etc etc (many others of course) so again, what do you mean?

Answer #4

I’m not with or agains it. it is a magical “religion”. but its not good to join it for the wrong reasons. it will not make you cool or make you gain respect. even as you practice this religion they have a rule. DON’T PRACTICE SPELL AGAINS OTHERS as you get it back four times worse. if you do spell to oters you become a pagan.

Answer #5

They are against Wicca becuase they aren’t knoledgeable about this religion. They believe that we use our magick against people when that is completly against what we believe in. They need to actually be friends with a wiccan so they know that we are completly harmless. They are just scared of what they don’t know.

Answer #6

thex13thxchild has a point, what do you take us for when you say do not try do convert you? We wouldn’t do that, its one of our basic beliefs that we DO NOT try to conform those not of wicca and witchcraft. The reason being that we like people to make up their own minds about what they believe in. And why do you think magick is wrong? What reason do you have to believe this other than the church running around saying we’re all born of the devil? That we worship the devil and that we are all satanists? The only reason that people are against witchcraft and wicca is because of the church deeming it evil. God says do not murder and to love thy neighbour? Then tell me why does he also say thou shalt not suffer a witch to live?

Answer #7

jcrod, I thought that was cool that you were atleast willing to look into it, thats more than a lot of people do, I dont know what thex13thxchild has told you already but if you are still willing to look into it you can funmail me if you wish

Answer #8

No, I just wanted to see what YOU believed. There is so many type of everything nowadays.

Answer #9

Okay, I’m a witch, ex Christian I can tell you what they’re going to say

It’s against the bible It’s against God It’s of the devil they’re devil worshippers It’s satanic It’s not of (their) God It’s not going to get you into heaven It’s not the “true” path and other such EXCUSES

There ya go they really don’t have a substantial enough reason to be against it, they’ve an extreme lack of knowledge about it. They’re just going ot be dogmatic against it because it poses a threat to that they were brought up to believe, or they were just brought up to believe that every other relgion other than their own is evil, especially Wicca, witchcraft, and other such practices do to the bad rap surrounding it sense the burning hysteria

Answer #10

I honestly do not know about this, but I do believe magic is wrong. However I will look into it, so people cannot say I do not know about it. In fact, thex13thxchild, tell everyone what it is about. Do not try to conform us to it, just tell everyone the basics of it; your beliefs as a witch.

Answer #11

Conforms? What do you take me for, a Christian, Jehovah Witness? And why should I tell you anything? Because you demand it? Why not do some true research on the matter rather than asking the would-be’s on this site. It’s not something as simple as Christianity or any biblical belief. But yeah, I’ll tell you under the question you have posted since it appears you’re a bit too lazy to do any research of your own,

Answer #12

they (not I) are against it, because they are bigotted, and use some ridiculous ancient book to make themselves feel better about that raw bigotry rooted in ignorance and fear.
