Omega 3/Fish Oil Pills

I have poor concentration and loss of short-term memory that is quite frequent. Are these pills the same, or which one would be better if they are not? Will these even help me? I am sorry I forgot to mention I do have slight ADD.

Not all omega 3 supplements are the same.

Flax seed oil capsules provide alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Fish or microalge oil capsules contain eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

If you are basing your choice on specific studies than you want to take the same kind of suppliment as was used in the study. Based on what I’ve read you are probably more in the market for DHA and EPA suppliments than ALA. Our bodies can produce DHA and EPA from ALA but there are a lot of questions about the efficiency of this process. There have also been a few interesting studies about using vitamin D3 as a treatment for ADD. Considering how often new studies have different results than old ones I’m still skeptical about either treatment but you are welcome to try them to see if they seem to help you.

My doctor recommended that I take flax seed oil but she is trying to treat boarderline triglycerides not my attention (though having ADD myself it might not hurt).
