Hello this question is for nurses all over the world who had similar incident in their clinical life.2 months back we, I and a junior lady doctor were catheterising a male patient..before the doctor arrived, I was with the patient ,preparing him for the urinary catheter insertion.then he farted silently.I knew it.it was very stinky,eye watering but I stood like nothing happened..by the time the doc came the stink was gone.then we put the catheter.at this time the patient farted a huge one loudly.the doctor laughed very much in front of that patient.I cant say anything.can any nurses share similar farting experiences and the way they dealt with the patient?
My mom is a nurse and she always talks about incodents. She always says she will laugh and stuff to make the patient feel more comfortable.
