Numbing before piercing

Shall I numb myself before I go get my self pierced? I dont want to feel the pain, the pain is the only thing Thats Stopping me from geting my lip and tongue done I have a Fear of needles. Im not bothered about the swelling or the after bit its just the pain going in with the needle that bothers me shall I numb it first?

Answer #1

Don’t bother. You barely feel the tongue; it’s all muscle, barely any nerves. It literally feels like it warps through your tongue. The lip is just as painless. The only difference is that if you numb yourself with benzocaine (the only way to really numb it) then you’ll just drool a lot more; you will still feel it. Suck it up, the pain is slight and temporary!

Hey, I got my tongue done nearly a year ago and they gave me this mouthwash which made it a lil numb and when they pierced it I barely felt it.. its really just a little sting like if you pinch your tongue with your nails.. lol.. don’t worry too much and dont thinka bout it too much, u’ll just freak yourself out! Hope it helps and goodluck! :)

well I dont know much about getting piercec but I herd about numbing with ice befor

Answer #5

The only thing that might work is taking a pain reducer medicine before getting pierced. I have my tongue pierced and used to have my lip pierced. Neither hurt at all.

Answer #6

well, let me start by saying I’m a piercer, I’ve done over 270 as of today. I’ve also pierced myself 145 times (I know crazy) but there really is no way of “numbing” for a piercing, it goes soo fast you barely feel anything other that a sting. hope this helps

Answer #7

just let it be the piercer will know what to do
