Is it normal to lose a lot of hair in the shower?

I really only lose hair in the shower.

Answer #1

If you have curly hair that you don’t brush/comb, or you just don’t brush/comb your hair very often, you’ll lose the strands that come out naturally when you’re washing your hair. You know how you see people’s hair brushes covered in hair? Yeah well yours just comes off in the shower lol. Just be careful it doesn’t clog the drain!

Answer #2

I lose alot of hair in the shower. Is your hair thick? That’s why I lose alot.

Answer #3

It depends if your hair is breaking off or if your loosing it from the top. Hair that breaks off (split ends) is usually due to it being dried out. Hair thinning can be caused by poor diet, medications, stress, and also can indicate thyroid issues. But if it’s not excessive or persistant hair loss, I wouldn’t worry to much about it. maybe just get a good cut.

Answer #4

Yes. My hair is very thick & short, I lose lots in the shower.

Answer #5

if you are showering in a hot shower then your hair is most likely to fall off and dry out. it could be that the shower head is shooting out water to strong and makes the top of your head to lose hair. also, it could be that your hair has already fallen of but is tangled with your other hair, so brush your hair before you get into the shower.

Answer #6

I dunno why but I do lose too =(

Answer #7

If you use a comb or brush in the shower, absolutely. I wouldn’t worry about it! I have tons of hair in my shower brush, but you shouldn’t be losing enough hair it to be noticeable or even unhealthy in the least. It’s perfectly healthy to shed hair from your hair. Don’t start worrying until you start to notice missing patches of hair. At that point, it’s safe to get some medical advice to see what’s going on!
