Nope… If it was normal, then we probably wouldn’t call it depression. There are many kinds of depressive disorders though - some are episodic and others involve constant depressed mood. If you feel depressed essentially all of the time, you should talk to your doctor and maybe get a referral to talk to a counsellor or psychologist, just so you can talk things over with someone and receive feedback as to what may be going on.

No not at all. It’s called depression and although many people don’t think so it is a sickness that causes alot of damage to someone, Phiscally and emotionally. Talk to your doctor, When he told me i had depression the medicine he gave me helped so much. But there is also things YOU could do to help. I listen to music, ALOT. Having someone to tell absolutely everything to helps. My current boyfriend is the only person i’ve told everything to for the past 4 years, Just having someone to be there helps. It doesn’t have to be your boyfriend/girlfriend, It could be a friend or family. Do things to keep you busy. Do things that makes you happy. I’m sure you have a hobby you love doing? That will help.

Teen angst is universal. Teens feel misunderstood. They long for more independence while reeling from the added responsibility they now have. Hormones bring unfamiliar emotions. The social pyramid that teens try to climb is slippery and it is easy to feel like an outcast. I’m not trying to belittle your feelings; I’m just saying that the road to adulthood is bumpy for everyone. You should talk to a professional to see if your feelings are normal teen angst or if they are a mood disorder.

No it is not normal. Fish oil supplements help with depression, a good night sleep, healthy diet, and exercise. I know it sounds odd but it really does help.
