Why haven't I had my period in 7 months?

I have not had a period for seven months and I would like to have a baby. I went to the doctors to see if there was any thing wrong and they said there was nothing wrong. what could it be and how should I go about having a baby?

Answer #1

Amenorrhea is the medical term for not having a period for six months or more. Not having a regular period is a sign that the body is not cycling estrogen as it should. The reasons for amenorrhea are not fully understood. Low body fat and low calorie intake stresses the reproductive hormones to restrict their normal signals. Amenorrhea can also be due to illness, overtraining, physical stress, psychological stress, low-calorie diets, low-fat diets, and low-protein diets. There are also some medical conditions that can cause this loss of regular periods. Estrogen is necessary for reproductive health and if you are not menstruating regularly, it will be difficult to conceive. Find a different doctor to help you find some answers. Good luck. I hope you get some exciting news someday soon.
