Why do I always have hard nipples at five months pregnant?

Secondly, while I am not a doctor by any means, I have seen a great number of my friends go through the experience of pregnancy and one of the first things I’ve noticed among them is that they tend to worry about nearly everything that happens to them that is the slightest bit different than normal. Well, it should be semi-comforting to take in a realization that your body will NOT be normal during this period, as it has an inordinate supply of different chemicals than normal, and is lacking in areas it normally has an abundance of.

Now, getting more to the question, during the period of pregnancy, your breasts will be readying themselves for the production of milk for your newborn. Some mothers (and soon-to-be-mothers) that I have talked to in the past have noted that they have had experiences similar to yours, while others have had no difference in relation to their breasts or nipples (save for perhaps a heightened sensitivity to touch on the nipples themselves.) As for unhardening them? Well, I’m no expert in that field, but you may just try (GENTLY) stretching the skin and possibly massaging the nipple/surrounding area. You may want to have a daub of lotion on your fingers when undergoing this, just to make it more smooth and to nullify any pain you might otherwise cause. Of course if the lotion is too cold, it will go against what you’re looking to achieve, so be careful. :)
