Why is there nothing on the news about 3 su!cides?

Thing about the news, is that it goes through extensive gate-keeping. Each piece of news they get are filtered until the most newsworthy events are reported upon. It’s filtered by every step of the media organization.

I’m saying it wasn’t even on local news, thats what surprised me. I haven’t seen anything about it except for a small blerb in the paper.

When someone I know crashed a motorcycle and died in march it was on the news and in just about every paper over here. I’m not sure if they didn’t speak about this because it was a su!cide or what.

They often don’t mention such incidents on the news as they fear that other folks would imitate them.

The more suic!des they show on the news, the more people try hurting themselves.This is a problem, especially if famous people (who have fans) kill themselves. Then they have higher suic!de and attempted suic!de rates everywhere. So they don’t mention it on the news in order to protect endangered/ mentally instable people.

Some people may find it very uncomfortable hearing about it and having young children being exposed to it. Also its private, my sister attempted it and was in a special home with a lot of other ppl who had, non of them were on the news, i hated it when ppl knew about what she was stupid enough to try i guess they want to keep it on the down low, not forgetting su!cide is becoming more common in the 21st century so the more ppl doing it the less surprising it is.

Because Of That Is Considered Kind Of A Bad Way To Die..Not Sure..

Generally the news will not cover sui.cides (or will cover it minimally) in order to reduce the number of copy cat sui.cides.
