Neurology question

I went to a theme park a few days ago and I was fine when I got home, but when I woke up the next morning I was so confused, I didn’t know where I was or what to do. I went to my primary care doctor who told me to go to the emergency room, which I did, and had a CT scan, which turned out normal. They told me to go home, even though I still couldn’t think right. It’s been almost 4 days and it has improved slightly but I still can’t concentrate on anything and there is a slight pain in my head. I have epilepsy, but at the hospital they tested and my medication level was normal. I am just wondering if anyone knows what this could possibly be. I think it has something to do with one of the roller coasters I went on at the theme park.

Loose screws! :)

Did you tell your doctor that you had been to the theme park and ridden the rollar coaster?

I’m no doctor but the thought that comes to me is that the ride on the rollar coaster may have shook things up a little in your head, sort of like if you got knocked on the head and sort of had a concussion.

The only reason I put forth the above is because, many years ago, I got hit on the head by a sheet of plywood. I don’t know if it knocked me out or not but it did cause me to be disoriented. I couldn’t even recognize streets and stores that I’d been familiar with for years. I had a friend take me to the hospital but they couldn’t find anything wrong (behind my back they laughed and acted like I was crazy).

I don’t remember how long it lasted. I went home and slept it off and was okay the next day.

I would guess that it is just going to take a few more days for things to return to normal. If things don’t seem to get better in a few more days, then maybe you should revisit the hospital. You might keep a log of things over the next few days so that you can show it to the doctors.

Answer #2

You may want to get a second opinion for peace of mind…Take care !!

Answer #3

I would ask your primary care doctor for a referral to see a neuroloist. The cost of this is far less than a situation that could develop in time. I had a brain tumor that was undiscovered for a number of years because of my neglience.
