Need help finding well known sound effect.

Whats the sound effect called where f.ex : Music is playing in a romantic scene or some scene and then suddently it goes “ ScCrRRrr!” and the music stops and something retarded gets said or done and makes it funny. Please help me!

So back in the day, there were these things called ‘records,’ which were flat vinyl (sometimes shellac) discs with circular grooves cut into them. When a diamond needle attached to an amplifier was run through the grooves, the sound of the needle running over the waveforms embedded in the plastic re-created a song, which was picked up by the amplifier and broadcast through a speaker.

Quickly drag the needle laterally across the grooves of the record, and you get a record scratch, which is what you’re looking for.
