what do doctors do when testing you for hiv and aids? how long does it take for them to get results back?
there is a new test out now that is a mouth swab test. they swab the inside of your cheeks and you get the results back in 20 mins.
It is a blood test and it should only take a day or couple of day depending on which lab. I had to have one before surgery a couple of weeks ago, it’s a standard test before surgery. I did learn that there are two types of HIV (1 & 2), which I did not know before. My tests were negative (just as I thought)…hope the same for you!!!
They draw some blood (not a lot) and then send it off to a lab. They will notify you when the results come in.

I’m not positive on this one,But Im pretty sure they test through blood,or maybe urine. It takes about a week for the results. [[I know that for a fact,it was part of one of Dave Chapelle’s stand up jokes.]] hah :]
