Natural or permed? (African American)
For the past 4 and a half years, I’ve been getting my hair pressed. The last time I got a perm was in middle school, and it broke off, and it took me a while to get it healthy again. Im leaving for college in 9 days, and I dont know what I want to do with my hair. My hairdresser wants to use a product called Namaste on my hair which she says will work great in my hair and is more of a “natural perm”. I dont want to get a perm and have my hair fall out again. my hair means a lot to me, and I want it to be healthy. Should I go to college with my hair pressed and natural or go ahead with what my hairdresser calls a “natural perm”? by the way does anyone know anything about this Namaste product?
well, ask her about the chances of losing your hair .
and search up “side effects of Namaste” on google. and see what others have expirienced.
I don’t think you should get a perm. At least wait another six months and see if you still feel the same about perming it. It does demage your hair and it is extremely hard to get demaged (african american)hair back healthy. Also, I’ve never heard of Namaste, I wouldn’t use it. Whenever I go to the hair salon, they are always telling me to try some product that I’ve never heard of, I did it once and it was a mistake. It didn’t destroy my hair but it made my hair so dry.
I’m african american as well and I understand what you mean about perming your hair Congrats on college BTW Stick to pressing your hair and leaving it natural. But if you want to get a perm still do your research and find out if your hairdressers have some experience in perming hair. It’s esstential to ask questions. With that new product that your hairdresser was tellin you I’d say follow what suzyboo mentioned and google it and find out the side effects about the product. My sister have had her hair permed by a hairdresser whove damaged her hair with the perm. Good luck at whatever your decision is
