My Serbian Boyfriend

I’ve been dating a Serbian guy who is 27 years old for 18 months. I’m American and 36. He fled his home of Bosnia when he was 14 with his parents during the war. He has a lot of friends and cousins who are Serbs that he spends most of his time with. I’ve never once been invited to meet any of them. He has met my friends on occasion. When he is with me he is really good to me. Yet I’m starting to think that maybe he is ashamed to introduce me to the people in his life because they would be disappointed that I’m American. I’m confused. Help?

You should read about his bosnia customs,he may be ashamed to bring you around his bosnia friends and loved ones because you are not bosnia,thats not fair to you,he knew you were not bosnia when he met you,its time to have a serious talk with him on how this makes you feel,18 months is long enough time for him to introduce you to his peoples,so go ahead and ask him why?and if hes going to change yhe situation?best wishes.
