Don’t Believe what he says. He might not care for screamo. Besides, every singer/band has a critic and they either ignore them or they learn from them. May be you just hit something wrong that screwed up the song you were singing. Just learn from the experiance and try. If he tells you that you suck, tell him that he sucks at life so he shouldn’t be talking. Besides, we need more screamo-ians in this world so just grab that mic or whatever and scream your head off. Okay maybe not…but that would be a pretty cool sight to see.

Just because he told you that you suck at screamo doesn’t mean you should stop,just take his opinion and do what YOU can to make it better,it’s like your taking his insult as a negative comment to make your singing better. I have gone through that when I first started writing Nu Metal songs in 2008,and so far all those people who have insulted my music have made me a better writer.

Absolutely NOT. Just because one idiot says you suck doesn’t mean you really do. If your just starting out, of course your not going to sound that great. It takes practice, effort, and time. Don’t EVER let ANYONE crash your dreams. Never give up on what you believe in. In the end, I’m sure he’ll be feeling pretty stupid when you prove him wrong.

No you shouldn’t stop its your dream and your passion so you should go for it. Show your mom’s boyfriend that you can do anything when you put your mind to it! Believe in yourself!

There’s always going to be people who either don’t like you for some reason, like to hate on you, or just like to say the word “suck”, either way there’s no reason to listen to them and get yourself down, that only makes them feel better, cheer up

Don’t give up on yourself just because other people don’t believe in you.

The way I see it, the more people tell you that you can’t, is all the more reason to show them how good you actually can.
