It sounds to me like you have a pup who is more high energy, with a “harder” personality than what you were expecting (“harder” simply meaning that she’s more independent, more willfull…). You have other dogs, so you know that they ALL take a lot of time invested in the beginning…and this pup is a higher maintenance dog… in need of even more time and effort.

You don’t say how old she is (or what breed or breeds)…so I can only remind you of the main ingredients of training…Consistancy and patience…

Why not keep your shoes locked in a closet…that would take some temptation away from her and aggrivation from you…You might want to keep a “tag” on her collar…to make a tag, go to the dollar store and get a cheap leash…cut it off so it’s 12” to 18” long (depending on how tall she is). Keep it on her in the house at all times. That way, when she goes after one of the other dogs, you can grab it, give a small jerk, and say NO!!…or ENOUGH!! A tag gives your arm an extra foot or so of length.

For barking, a pop can filled with pennys…put duct tape over the hole…give her two free barks, then say SHHH!!! or ENOUGH!! and toss it at her… It will shock her into shutting up. If she starts barking again, do the exact same sequence again. She probably is a little stubborn, and will test you…but It won’t be long before all you have to do is pick it up and jingle it…a small reminder.

you sound like me… :( hahahah! I ahve a puppy that barks all the time!! I’ve learnt that exersise is a must do!!! if your puppy has had her jabs a good walk will calm her abit down! with naughty behavour- I just remove all shoes and anything that the pup will chew, save temptation! if you dont want to it chewed put is somewhere where the pup cant get it! they will grow out of it if you disapline them! I firm no works for me but when it doesn’t I get one finger through the collar and take them out of the room somewhere quiet and leave them there for a few min’s no eye contact and no talking! dogs dxont like to be ignored!! remember to reward good behavour. im affriad you do have to watch puppies 24/7 as they are babies! maybe invest in a large pen outside or in a room? good luck xx

What exactly have you done to train your puppy?

It sounds to me like she:

  1. Isn’t getting enough attention - which is causing her to do things to give her some.
  2. Hasn’t been taught right from wrong properly.

If shes barking really loud there is a reason, shes not just going to bark loudly for something to do.

All puppies do this, its part of their playful behavior, you should have known these things before getting her.

teach it discipline , if you have the money take it to a dog training facility give it a couple of days to a couple of weeks and you will have the same dog you have now just more obedient.
