My parents are embarassing!

I know everyone says their parents are embarassing but I just can’t help thing that mine are worse. I have been round my mates houses and their parents are just relaxed with me there they chat and stuff ad you when I went round this girls house we were there with her mum for a bit and it was relaxed. Where as I rarely have people round mine and when I do my mum asks them loads of questions and gets all embarassing around them if she’s not drunk already.

Whenever I meet up with my girl mates my dad always asks me if she is ‘the girlfriend’ and he just doesnt understand you don’t have to go out with every girl you know. My parents also ask me if I’m embarassed by them as I don’t often have people round and I say no but I think they understand but they don’t change.

can anyone relate to me or have any advice like I dont feel able to bring a girl home. cheers

my parents are the same way. it’s mainly my dad. if I were you, I would sit down with them and explain to them how you feel. I’m sure your parents understand. something my dad always says when I have a guy friend over is: I’ll be sitting in the hallway tonight cleaning my gun. boy, think about that while you sleep at night. hope your parents aren’t that crazy.

Dude…everyones parents are like that no matter what you think. Its sort of a god givin’ right that they get to mess with us. My advice is plain and simply stay out of their way. Go off in the back yard or to your bedroom. Somewhere you wont be bothered. avoid them at all cost…just dont make it seem that way.

same here besides the liking girls part

Answer #4

Well one thing I do is to remind myself that I can’t control what they do or how they act, and it works sometimes. Maybe if you told them to chill out a bit, or ask your mom not to drink when you bring girls home?
