What should I do to get him back?

so theres this guy I liked for a while now, and I just found out he liked me for a long time and we went out for a couple weeks. but then he got mad at me for hanging out with his friends, which they were my friends too, and then he sort of broke up with me. im not too sure if he is still mad at me. but his friend says he isnt mad and he is cool with me now. its kind of hard to believe because he doesnt talk to me as much as he used to and it feels like he doesnt want to around me anymore. what should I do to get him back?? I really really like him. I was thinking about pretending to like one of his friends to see if he gets jealous but then I thought about it and thought it would sort of dumb. what should I do?
