My fiance is going to the Marines

My fiance’ is going to the marinesand it is his life long dream. The nearest marine base is in Kentucky, and I can’t go with him until I am 18. And even when I do turn 18 I will still need to be in Ohio to do my schooling, I could handle going to a college in a different state but the high school I am in is really great and all the teachers are working really hard with me to get me up in the grade I need to be in. Because when I was in a regular public school I f#cked up and got into drugs and stuff like that, and I am supposed to be in the 11th grade but I am in 9th still. I want to go with him but I NEED to stay and do my work. Should I make that sacrifice to go with my fiance or should I wait until I am done with schooling and then go to where he is at. Because that has crossed my mind but then I am afraid that if going through school takes 2 or 3 years that when we do meet up again one of us will not be the same person…Please tell me your thoughts on this.

You guys look really happy together, but you will regret not going to school way more than not going with him. If you two are going to be together you will both need to make an effort to communicate and be faithful with each other while he is away. You finally have your life on track and you don’t need to lose sight of what is important, even if you are in love. He could also make a sacrifice and wait to join until you graduate… just a thought! Are there any programs at your school that help you catch up? At my school the program was called MAC and you could study at you own pace to catch up to the grade you should have been in, or just to graduate faster. You should check into that, good luck!
