My dog is having puppies

Shes a 2yr old golden lab, how many pups do they have??? And what am I spose to do when she starts going in2 labour??? Do I rush her to a vet???

Answer #1

labs normaly have 5-10 pups, and when she goes in 2 labour, make sure shes some where warm and quiet…theres no need 2 rush her to the vets unless shes having great difficulty delivering the pups,

My dog just had 8 puppies and about an hour ago she had contractions and has been pushing for the last hour is this a sign something could be wrong? Thanks for any input.

AWW GEEZ mAYB I SHOULD HAVE EXPLAINED IT PROPERLY,

We got her from the poud and have just recently seen signs of her being pregnant, I have 4people that already have dogs or have owned dogs before that are willing to take care of them.

We live on a huge farm sso there is no reason why we can’t keep them ourselves, we have two male dogs aswell theyre working dogs though.

I just wanted to have a little insight, I know that there are dogs abandoned everyday, we have gotten all of our dogs from the pound and they have all been Great !!!

I was just wondering, shes going to be with us for a very long time.

Her stomach is getting really firm and her breasts are getting big aswell, she doesn’t really run around as much at the moment she just eats and sits…I thought she may have been depressed, she plays still, just prefers to be sitting down and basking in the sun a watching the dogs run around.

My husband said something about a phantom pregnancy??? I just haven’t had the time to take her to the vet, we usually take the dogs in once a year for a check-up.

Answer #5

I think when she goes into labur you should leave her, my dog had her first litter and seemed to know what to do

Answer #6

google it! you can find out anything with google .. a website will come up & they will tell you exactly what to do!

Answer #7

Your dog should have been spayed but since that is water under the bridge… I agree with editor if you have not already found homes. Whatever you decide, you should have your dog SPAYED to avoid future pregnancies. A spayed/neutered dog lives a happier and healthier life…

Answer #8

If you know so little about having a litter of pups…why did you allow her to get pregnant???

phrannie

Answer #9

When did she tie with the male? How do you know she is pregnant? Can you start there?

Answer #10

Seconded to phrannie. If you don’t already have homes waiting for the puppies, you should get your dog an abortion. There are between 4 and 6 million puppies put to death every year (yes puppies) because the shelters are overcrowded and there are not enough homes for them.

If you already have homes for the puppies, disregard this message.
