My Dogs urinate on their beds
Okay, my dog or possibly dogs (rarely catch who is the culprit) pee on blankets or anything that is left on the floor, including their own dog beds. They do their business outside most of the time and they know that outside is the appropriate spot. (my dogs are 6 months and one and a half). Could they be marking their territory? They are both males but they are both neutered! Help!!! This is driving me nuts. It feels like this issue of peeing on the blankets or their dog beds is a territorial thing, not a housetraining issue. I could be wrong. I want my dogs to be able to sleep on something comfortable or to chill out on their dog beds, but they always soil them. HELP!!!
Ditto to Ty’s thought…and “duh” to me…LOL. Whenever I have an animal that takes up doing something out of the blue, or “used” to know better…eliminate physical possibilities.

I’m sure phrannie would have mentioned this if it was a possibility, but I know when cats do that it’s sometimes because they have infections… Dunno if it works the same way with dogs..
I think you are right…since you sure they are completely housetrained, then the only answer is, they are marking territory…You’ve got to make sure that the smell is GONE…any place they may have dribbled around the beds as well as the blankets…and the carpet around where the beds are. You might have to start over, with new beds and bankies…to make absolute sure there is no oder.
If you’re working when this is happening, I really don’t know how to stop them. tho…you have to catch them in the act Maybe devote a weekend to nothing but watching them, in order to catch and correct the behavior?
