My dog is shy and seems depressed
he is very shy and has a hard time making friends with other dogs and seems depressed what can I do to help him?
Lol, my dog hates other dogs and has never been friendly with them, but he’s quite happy, he gets lots of human attention… my cat’s pretty much the same way, hates other cats… as long as they get enough human attention they dont necessarily need other animals…
Try taking him to obedience class…one with other dogs…They are wonderful for helping dogs learn to socialize with other dogs…other people…plus they build confidence in the dog, himself…He may never be a socialite, but familiarity desensitizes a dog to things they are afraid of…

try to get him familliar with other dogs and people by taking him out for walks. Dogs are usually shy when they’re not used to something but with more exposure they get better. As for your dog being depressed, it may be lack of exercise? Try playing fetch or running around with him or just teaching him new tricks.
My dog hates other dogs, shes quite terretorial and gets jealous easily. just make sure you give him lots of love and attention, so he doesnt feel lonely, and also toys to play with, and maybe a teddy bear/soft toy in his bed at night :-)
