My dad...

I can see both sides here —

I have a feeling your dad might be wondering why you have such low goals — Singing would be a FANTASTIC career… but in reality, besides being able to sing that one requires good luck and great timing to hit it… Good idea, but not something you can count on.

As to hairstylist — again, not a bad thing — it would be just a JOB though, and while your stylist might make good money — that person unless they own the place is not making as good money as you might think… and she BUSTIN her a$$ doing it too!

As to your language selections — I wonder what school you go to that teaches swahilli! I’m not familiar with any colleges that teach it as a regular class for sure, let alone as an actual college class… You’re still in high school based on your age, and unless you’re in a very unique school, I can not think they teach other than the basic languages — that one not being basic. French, Spanish, German, maybe Russian, and maybe Chinese…

Adopting kids from Africa? Why wouldn’t you want your own (flesh and blood) kids?

Can I suggest adopting from your own country maybe!?! I understand your reasons for wanting to adopt from there… But, it doesnt sound realistic for a plan.

Getting back to your dad being negitive about everything — Since I AM a dad, I can say that while I might handle it differently, my intentions would be the same. I would want my daughter to hopefully choose a desire in life that not only made her happy, but also would allow her to be taken care of in life.

Clearly it would make you happy to adopt from that country, but that’s not a career. What would be the point in that plan, if you didn’t have a good job…good career that would allow you to do just that plan?

Unless you are gods gift to hairstyling, I’m telling you from knowing owners in that business – you are NOT going to get rich from it — which is ok — but with your ideas, you won’t have the means to make them happen…

This is why I said I think he’s upset your goals are set higher…

To you though — I would say — unlike a lot of girls your age, at least you are thinking about things bigger than yourself — so — Dont NOT do those things, but really, consider aiming a bit higher when it comes to things that will help you do the things you want to do in life — and a good career/job (and going to college is part of that) will get you —
