I have 2 cats... One is about 2 years old (male) and has a thing with eating plastic bags, wrappers, whatever... The other is a female, I don't know how old, she was a stray when I adopted her and they could not figure out her age at the shelter. Anyways, she runs if she hears the sound of scrunched up plastic bags, but sometimes I catch her lying on top of one. Why do they do that?
My cat loves to eat plastic. Sometimes I would have to literally pull plastic out of his throat. Yuck. I have no idea why they do that. Your female cat is probably more frightened of the unexpected noise from the bag, than of the bag itself. If she continues to play with bags, she should get used to the sound on her own and not be as jumpy.
