Why does music sound so "different" nowadays?

(and by different I mean terrible)

Answer #1

I love music. Music is my world and I can’t go a day without it. But I see exactly what your talking about. Alot of songs don’t use real instruments now adays, its usally just edited in there. Also alot of singers use auto tone, which in my opnion ruins the songs and makes me stop likeing them as much because they get annoying. Plus most songs nowadays are about either hooking up, breaking up, or throwing up.(like talking about dr*gs or achole) It’s all party music, nothing that really reaches the heart. Most of the time i’ll listen to whats on the radio but somtimes I like to look at the older music from 2000-2009. Maybe someone will come along and make some of the older type music, till then we just gatta deal with it.

Answer #2

I don’t wanna deal with it, and I want whatever band or singer who’s gonna make the old styled music to hurry up and come hopefully in the spring of 2012. I’m tired of these makeup songs, and party songs.

Answer #3

I guess that’s what everyone these days like. The “ terrible “ music is the best sometimes ;)

Answer #4

Everything in this world changes and develops and it never stays the same. Music “nowadays” isn’t supposed to be exactly like it was several years back.

Answer #5

I mean, there has ALWAYS been sucky music around. There’s nothing wrong with preferring older music, but keep in mind that the concept of “terrible music” isn’t anything new. It’s all really a matter of opinion, I think. There are some amazing bands and artists out there, you just have to know where to look. I listen to mainly indie/alternative bands and underground artists, and stay away from all commercial stuff.

Answer #6

Good answer.

Answer #7

That’s the thing about music, what’s popular is always changing. The good news is we don’t have to listen to what’s popular. Finding music you like might be a challenge, but it is possible to avoid overplayed, sometimes annoying music of today.
