Mum- raped and had an abortion.

I remember once she told me she’d been raped. She thought I’d been raped and so she told me her story. She also told me about her abortion because she thought my sister was pregnant. I was just like “jesus!” and she told me she still cries about the baby she lost. I don’t even know how to think about it. I’m not “fine” with abortion. I have my reasons to not be ok with it, but in her situation, I definitely think it was the right decision… this all happened about 20 years ago. I dunno what to think about it… like its such a shock.

anyone that has had an abortion will tell you that they have their reasons and for a lot of women it’s not because they didn’t feel like using birth control. When I was raped if I would of become pregnant I would of had an abortion because I can’t imagine carrying around my rapist’s child for 40 weeks and then giving birth to it…it would of been such a horrific experience and I think that a lot of women feel that way. Rape isn’t something that you choose but you can choose to not be reminded of it everytime you feel your belly being kicked, or everytime you hear the heartbeat at the doctors, or everytime you have a craving, or everytime you throw up…the list goes on and on.

Just support your mom…and by the way, I think it’s great that she could open up to you about it. :)

Abortion, no matter the reason, takes a Life.
