whats the answer to this??? -5y +(9 x 8y x 4)-(9+56)=? if you know how to do this then can you tell me I in algebra 2 and my teacher gave me this problem which I really not good at really if you know it and can show me how to then I will be haPppy:) THX!:D

Answer #1

IF you wrote it correctly

simplify by doing the processes inside the Parentheses first gives -5y + ( 288y ) - ( 65 ) = ?
then 283y - 65 = ? And that is as far as you can go. You can’t solve for anything since the equation equals an unknown (I.e. ‘?’)

Maybe someone else can help you further. Good Luck!!

Answer #2

Start with PEMDAS

P-Parenthesis E-Exponents M-Multiplication D-Division A-Addition s-Subtraction

If you follow this order of operations, you should be able to figure it out. I you go one section at a time you won’t get so overwhelmed by all of the numbers.
