Moving in with the other parent...

I’m 16 years old. I live with my mother and I would like to move in with my father. I don’t know what I should say to my mom and if I go to court for it all, I don’t know what I should say to the judge about it. I guess it’s all kind of nerves and anxiety, but any suggestions?

Answer #1

welll you should sit down with your mother and ask her to live with your father for a while and maybe she will let you if not then you could take it to court and try to ask the judge to let you move in with your father that all I got

Answer #2

it all depends on what kind of costody your mom has over you. if she’s got parcial, than at 16 you should be able to move in with your dad if you want to. if she has full costody over you, then you’ll probably have to take it to the court. but it’s your father. as long as his name is on the birth certificate and he has a stable home and income, you should still be able to move in with him. think of the reasons you want to move in with your dad. if it comes down to taking it to court, explain to the judge why. if not, just tell your mom that you dont’ see your dad enough and you would liike to know him better.
