Moving a small vehicle
What are some creative ways to make a small vehicle move? I need really creative ideas. And no track please.
Step one: launch a small spacecraft out of the gravity well of the planet. This craft will carry a cargo of antimatter particles, each housed in a stasis field.
Step two: eject an antimatter particle outside of the craft and immediately encase it in its own stasis field. The explosion should push the craft forward with the craft and its occupants remaining unharmed.
Step three: lower the stasis field at regular intervals to eject more pellets to keep acceleration constant. If all goes well, it should only take a few thousand years to approach lightspeed, at which point the occupants should have more than enough momentum to allow them to explore most of the galaxy.
Stopping is another matter altogether, of course.
