Mouse pup problems??

Hey, I have 14 mouse babies all together. They are about 10 - 11 days old. Not all of the pups are from that mom but the other mom kept eating her babies. 4 of them are from another mom. One of the babies that I saved has a rather large scar on her head, I caught her old mommy eating her so I took her out and gave her to another mommy. I just noticed that when she suckles she goes for her moms “down there” area and not the nipples. Is this ok?

Answer #1

As long as she’s eating, she should be ok…

Answer #2

She does suckle from the nipples at times cause I see milk in her tummy but she always goes for the other area…

Answer #3

Lol, yes, that’s perfectly normal. I raise dogs, and every single time there’s a new batch of puppies, there’s always one puppy that sucks on the wrong thing x.x

If the baby only aims for that area, try moving it closer to the nipples. But if you notice that she’s getting enough milk, then that’s fine =o)
