Do Monroe piercings have negative effects?

i want to get my monroe done… but i wanted to know what kind of effects it would have… like scarring or irritation on my gums.

The back the stud can rub your gums. I have my chin/lip pierced and it occassionally rubs the gum. My daughter head a monroe done and then took it out. She has a little dot/scar where it used to be. Think carefully about this and only have it done if you are 100% sure and then have your piercing done by a professional.

If you have a good piercer to go to, they’ll explain where the best place is to put it for comfort. You’re going to be uncomfortable for a little while with the healing that has to happen before you can change the stud. Personally, the only thing that bothered me the first day with mine was that it kept hitting my tooth when I chewed. Once the swelling goes down, you can put a smaller stud in and it wont be as irritating. I’m on day 3 of the healing process and my only complaint is the swelling. In my opinion, its a very easy piercing as long as its taken care of. As for that, its an oral piercing so it takes much more care than others. Just ask around and make sure you have a good person doing it for you before you make your final decision.
