Mom is upsetting me.

I am 13 weeks pregnant, and we just moved in with my fiance’s mother and father because they are moving the beginning of this year, and we are going to take over payments. His father hates dogs and refuses to let my dog move in with us, so my grandma has been keeping my dog, until I could figure out what I needed to do. In the backyard my in-laws have a building that is the work-out room and its insulated, and my fiance and I are going to buy a heater to keep it nice and toasty in there for my dog, but my mom says thats mean and that its not fair to keep her in there all day. But I will be out there with her in the morning before work, I will be there at lunch at noon and I will be with her all afternoon after 3 to take care of her and be with her. I want something really good to say to my mom so she’ll leave me alone

I dont think it’s mean at all. Your dog will have shelter, you will be around to take him out every now and then, it’s climate controlled, etc.

It’s time to learn to stick up for yourself, even when it comes to your own mother. Especially since you are pregnant. There are going to be plenty of times your mother is going to say things that will upset you or make you mad. You have to learn how to be an adult and talk back to her rationally and calmly but still make your point. Believe me, mothers love to give you parenting advise, tell you what you are doing is wrong, and tell you things about raising your child. You have to learn how to stick up for yourself and brush it off.

no one said it was a bad thing? I just want her to realize that her input is just stressing me out more
