How to be a metal keyboardist?
im in highschool..& i only read notes to play..i am very much in classical piano & i dont have an idea about metal songs. my boyfriend wants me to play metal music like he plays.. he plays guitar..& we want to make a band.. i really dont have an idea….i really want to learn..=).. where can i get some complete metal piano tabs or sheets??i also wanted to play by ear..but i dont know how to develop it..
It is the same as classical just different tempos and instead of the piano you may use one of those weird sounds on it. It really depends what kind of metal you are trying to get into. Keyboards are really big in 80’s and Industrial Metal so look into bands that played in those genres to practice and get the hang of it. Some good bands are Poison, Marylin Manson, Queen etc. You can buy books at Daddy’s Junky Music or anywhere near you that sells books for piano. Also some places will order it for you if they do not have it. So look around the music stores will also help you if you explain you are going from classical to metal.
