Hi,

This website has amazing resources for study help –it’s the best one out there.

The thing that I do to help me study is I break up the project (or things I need to study) into smaller sections, or “chunks”. Each time you accomplish one little bit successfully, give yourself a meaningful reward.

It’s overwhelming to have a lot of information in front of you that you must remember. So just break it up and remember little pieces at a time. Don’t move on to the next chunk until you feel confident. After each chunk, have a piece of candy, surf online for 15 minutes or so, go outside and play some basketball or do whatever you would reward yourself with.

Good luck!

most people are using the left brain only. I would suggest you use the right brain as well. You should really utilize the power of visualization and association. How, always use graphical images for things you want to remember. Let’s say you are studying history, instead of memorizing all the text, try formulate a still image of a series of still image (aka movie clips) and associate the content to your imagination. it’s hard to start but when you get used to it you will find this method extremely powerful. One of the comment technique using this method is mind mapping.

Remember, you can use both sides of your brain by interchanging stuff from left brain (logic, text etc) to right brain (audio, visual etc).

Hope this helps!

Dear shajitha, This is an age old dilemma for many students. You have to keep trying new things and hope one works. For me I had to have the TV, radio on and force myself to avoid the distractions around me. This made me concentrate harder on the work I was studying. The professor suggested one of those multi coloured pens and rewrite your notes 3x in 3 different colours. It worked for me. Keep experimenting…A friend used a background of classical music to study by and her grades were excellent as well. Sue…good luck

There is a chewing gum designed to help you retain the information you are trying to learn. It is called Think Gum. I just saw something on the news about it. This kid invented it and chewed it during school and now he is getting his PhD from Stanford so I guess it works. I just bought some and I’ll post again and let you know if it works. http://www.thinkgum.com/buyonline.html

it’s a problem raised frequently by all the student at school. There is a efficient method you may want to use. Try to review what you’ve learned 7 times, constantly check if you remember them. you will do like this: once you learned something, you review it first time the second day, then 3 days after, 7 days, 14 days, 21…then every 7 days a time. After you do it 7 times, you will remember them forever. (China Property Insurance http://en.qianzhan.com/report/detail/9a8abf46c95b4de7.html)
