I buy a shirt for $21.99 which is on sale for 30% off. If tax is 7%, what is the final cost?

$21.99 times .3 take what you get from that, subtract it from $21.99, and take your answer from that, times it by .07, then take what you get from that and add it to the answer you got from taking the 30% off the $21.99…get it? I’m not going to give you the answer though then you won’t learn. Easy.

21.99 x 70% (.70) = ? ? x 107% (1.07) = answer.

So, Take off the 30% of 21.99 first Then add on the 7% to that answer
