Do you think the Maryland swim team should have lost their title because a member shaved onsite?

After one of its members were caught shaving onsite just before a competition, the team was stripped of its championship title.

While I agree with the concern that it poses a health risk, I think the member should have been suspended, as opposed to the whole team being penalized.

I think this no-shaving rule is ridiculous.

Sounds to me like the appropriate action was taken. The whole team was not directly penalized; only the individual swimmer’s results and the points after that dropped the team from 1st to 3rd place. It is a rough penalty but rules are rules.
