Mandy, should I join the Marines or keep the love of my life?

Mandy, Im about to join the Marines and beggining my journey to become a Weapons and Sensors Officer(Naval Flight Officer) inside F/A-18Ds(rear seat pilot). The thing is that I have a girlfriend, and I swear Mandy, I think shes the one. I knew that I loved her from the moment we met and that I want to spend the rest of my life at her side. Im afraid that I’ll have to leave her for long periods of time as a Marine and theres always the possibility of being deployed to Iraq. I love her with my entire heart, but flying in the Marines is what I’ve always wanted to do, flying is my passion. Im stuck between a wall and a thousand swords. What do you think I should do?

My husband is in the military, and honestly we are the same way. We met in high school, and knew from then that we were going to be together, we got married right after high school and he joined the service. I was VERY upset when he left for training but really it made our relationship sooo much stronger… GOOD LUCK and if she loves you shes going to understand! And thankyou for being the type of guy to want to join!!
