well, I get the crystal-like beads. the nice small-ish kind. those help make it pretty… and I use a 3-3-1 pattern. it makes pretty necklaces and bracelets!! if you need more explanation, funmail me!

first you should buy a simple jewelrey making kit at a place like spotlight, lincraft, ect ( a craft store) which should include some needle nose pliers youll need 2 pairs of different pliers to start (for opening and closing hoops and claps, ect then buy beads or charms, ect youll also need either elastic (for braceltes) or thin wire that you can thread the beads on (good for necklaces) you can even customise your own charms by finding a small toy and drillinga hole in it

Way to do it(pearl jewelry as an example)

Purchase beading wire (19-strand wire silver-plated), pearls, crimping beads and a package of bar and toggle clasps at a craft store. For your first few projects, get a big bag of cheap, mixed pearls to play with until you get the hang of it.

If you are making a necklace, take the wire and create the necklace length around your own neck and then add an extra 4 to 5 inches for the use of attaching a clasp. Use the same concept if you are creating a bracelet or anklet. Measure on your own body and then add just a few inches. Once you are familiar with the idea, you can measure out exact lengths to save wire.

Use your jewelry board as a way to hold your beads. If you did not purchase one, lay your washcloth down on a hard surface. This is to prevent your beads from rolling all over the place. Line up your pearls in the order you would like to use them on the washcloth. Think about the patterns you have seen on other pieces of jewelry. Usually, patterns are repetitive and involve two or three beads. If you have pink, black and white beads create a pink, black, white, pink, black, white pattern throughout the piece. Remember to end the piece at the end of the pattern.

Attach the bar to the necklace by creating a loop with the wire. Thread the wire through the hole at the end of the bar, loop it around and thread the crimping bead around both ends of the loop. Place the crimping bead as close as possible to the hole at the bottom of the bar and use the pliers to crush or crimp the bead flat. This will hold the bar in place. Using the crimping beads is the hardest part of the process. Do not be afraid to waste a few until you get the hang of it.
