Lousy computer
Is there a free program I can download that makes my computer run faster.
I have really no idea what im talking about, but my friend said there was something like that.
To speed up your computer try downloading, installing and running the FREE programs listed below in the order listed:
Eusing Free Registry Cleaner is good and relatively fast.

SpyBot Search and Destroy removes spyware and it’s FREE!

You can use either SpyBot or Ad-aware. I prefer to use both as sometimes they will each pick up something the other misses.
Ad-aware removes spyware and it’s FREE!

If you don’t have an Anti-Virus program on your computer, consider getting AVG. It has a FREE edition for non-commercial use. I’ve used it for years and am well satisfied.

You can still use your computer while running any of the above programs, however, things will run a little slower while AVG is actually scanning.
Another thing you can do to help speed up your computer: Start > Run > type in msconfig click OK select Startup tab and deselect those things you don’t want automatically starting at startup. If you’re not sure about something you can leave it or you can always comeback into msconfig later and reselect it.
Always remember to close all other programs when downloading and installing new programs. And, restart your computer after anytime you install something. (I usually have to restart my computer 3 times before everything is back running properly.)
There is no such program, only programs that ‘optimize’ your computer.
If you want a faster computer, upgrade your hardware (RAM/processor)
I am currently running 3Gigabytes of ram, and a dual 3Ghz processor
and if you dont know what I just said, IT RUNS REALLY REALLY FAST
oh yeah, defragment your hard drive also, that helps
No program will make your computer actually run faster but there are some that will improve the way it works start by defragmenting your computer them download a program called dustbuster XP those should help some.
Maybe try going for HighSpeed Internet? Or look for another Anti Virus system.. You might even have a few extra files, that could be deleted to leave some room for your computer space..?
If you’re running XP, try the following: Go to:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
After that is done, go to:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter
I believe that with both of the above you can still be using your computer while they are performing their task.
I’ll post some other suggestions in a few minutes.
good idea, Norton is such a douche bag
reinstall Windows after saving important files
