How can I Lose weight?

I’m 17 and I’m 5’6 and about 187 lbs. I “carry the weight well” according to my mother but I’m rather sick of trying to find clothing from cute stores in my size. I have a nasty habit of not drinking enough water so I know I need to work on that but if anyone has adivice on how I can lose weight. (And quickly..senior pictures coming up…) I would appreciate it. Problems with my previous attempts are that I get bored of doing the same exercise, I’m not cooking for myself so I eat whatever my family/ cafeteria feeds me, and its difficult for me to find a place to work out in the middle of rural Nebraksa. Your advice and encouragements would be greatly appreciated! :)

  According to the Adult weight range table (you’re too tall for the Teenage weight chart) you should weigh between 117 and 143 pounds.

How to LOSE weight?

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

Another thing that helps to lose weight is to always eat a good breakfast. That helps to jump start your metabolism which helps start burning calories. Also, try to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day. One before every meal (except breakfast) and before all snacks. That helps curb your appetite which helps reduce caloric intake.

sigh I know how you feel im 15 5”4 and 130 pounds :( I dont like water much but I stuck to it for about a week and now I have now problem with it, http://www.womenshealthmag.com/workouts/superman-variations when you feel hungry try drinking a glass of water because most of te time your body is actually telling you its water , water also increases your metabolism and so does protein like white meat brown rice veg and fruit all help burn calories faster XD let me know if you have any sucess and go to the gym everyday for about 2 weeks then cool it to every 2 days lol and swin a lot

Eat fruits and veggies (raw because your not big on cooking) Celery is a food that takes more calories to digest, then it has in it so the more celery you eat, the faster you will lose weight. Hope I helped
