Can I loose weight if I become a vegetarien, what must I eat, and how long will it take for me to see change.

I was a vegetarian for a few months. I lost weight BUT it wasn’t fun or anything NOR was I doing it for weight loss. There’s a lot of vital nutrients that are in meat and that are difficult to get outside of that category. Like protein - you could get it in beans and peanuts and cheese, but it’s really hard to resist a hamburger when given the opportunity. Besides, when I went veggie I got sick often - I even got the flu even though I don’t think the two things were related.

Are you aiming to become a veggie purely to lose weight? If yes. Dont. Some of the nutrients we need are found in meat and hard to get elsewhere. It’s ok to go veggie if you know about nutrition and are willing to spend much longer in the grocery store. If it’s weight loss that you’re after then just drop the fat in meat. Grill or barbecue meat and use lean cuts. Fish is always good providing it’s not batterred or canned in oil. Research has shown that most of us are overdoing the sugars sotry and cut out bread, pastry, potatoes etc and swap white rice for brown. I dont need to tell you to drink loads of water and eat freash fruit and veg. Most importantly, dont think that going veggie will make you thin I KNOW 3 VEGGIE GIRLS AND THEY ARE ALL HUUUGE bless’em.

Don’t become a vegetarian soley for the purpose of losing weight. Plus doesn’t sound like it’s very plausible for weight loss.

There are plenty of fat vegetarians and a few fat vegans, so don’t try to go vegetarian JUST to lose weight. It’s just wrong. If you’re interested in doing it for other reasons than do the research.
