How can I find finances to help a sick friend?

I am just looking for resources to help a friend with MS,. she recently was released from a specialized hospital and was sent home with a standard electric bed because Medicare/Medicaid would not pay for a hospital bed with cardiac positioning. I have an account set up for Wendy and this has kept their rent paid and food on the table but this account has slowed down and at this time has only $500.00 in it. The bed she needs is $4700.00 and she needs this yesterday. The regular bed does not come up far enough to help her breath and the feet dont go down far enough for circulation and to take pressure off her bed sores. Anything that you can do would be appreciated. Wendy worked all her able life and now needs our government to help her and it is not there. Where is the justice when we cant even take care of our own?

Hi,

Have you thought of looking into loans? I know it’s hard without her being able to work, so she can’t prove that she can pay it back..another option is to find a nonprofit organization that is for people living with MS. Many times, these nonprofits have funds or grants saved up that will be able to provide a little money to those who need it. MSAA is Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, they may be able to help you.
