how long do i have to wait to change my cartilage piercing?

i got it done 2 days ago so how many months til i can take it out? Also, someone said that if you use the “wrong stud” it can get infected so what sort of stud do i use after taking my original one out? x

3 months. it might be okay after 1 month, but ideally you should wait 3. studs made from cheap mateals can cause an infection,apart from that there isnt really anything else that could really go wrong. wrong jewelrey dose more damage when you put a stud in another part of your body, but you can keep most kinds of piercings (like labrets and rings used for the nose,navel,ear,eyebrow,lip,ect) in your ear if you really wanted to without causing infection. its putting the earring stud in say your lip that will cause a problem

I got my ears pierced 12/26/10 at claries and the girl who pierced them said to wait 6 weeks… i think its better to wait because it can get infected. make sure the back of your earings are big because thye first time i got my ears pierced i got earings from texas and the backs were so small, that i had to get surgery on my ear because the earing back went in my ear!!!! this is my last chance so i am waiting to change them, although i cant resist!!!
