How long should you study before taking a test?

Answer #1

This depends on various factors.

  1. How well you understand your work. If you understand it well you might only need a few hours vs a few days of revision.
  2. How difficult the subject is, some subjects require hours of revision, others not so much, this also goes hand in hand with how well you understand it
  3. How much time you have, if you don’t have a lot of time, rather spend a few hours understanding the most important aspects and revising them than all the work.
  4. Your learning style, for example, in order for me to feel comfortable with work I put in many, slow hours. My boyfriend on the other hand gets the same marks when just spending a few hours with fast reviewing.

Basically I suggest experimenting with the amount of time YOU require before taking a test.
