Has anyone ever given to locks of love?

I think it’s a great oganizatioin.

I’m nervous though - I’m going get my hair cut and colored 2morrow. In order to donate to Locks of Love - you have to cut off 10 inches. My hair is almost down to my waist - so it’s not like I’m going to have extremely short hair, but it’s almost as if my hair is my security blanket. Anyone else have a hard time cutting their hair?

yeah I have done it before. It feels really good helping and organization this way. and going for a new look as well makes you feel good. my sister works at a fiesta hair salonand they take donations for locks of love and they do take colored hair. they even take bleached hair it just has to be healthy looking hair!. good look. I think youll be glad once youve done it!!

I know what you mean, my hair is like my baby. my hair is pretty long, even getting a trim seems like a lot when you can see it fall on the floor :P

I think it depends on the color, her hair was extremely blonde and she dyed it brownish.

The mixture didn’t look natural, awesome as hell, but not natural, was sorta blondish dark blackish.

I bet they only take hair that looks natural.

They wont use colored, my dads girlfriend tried to donate hers when she cut it all off, not bleached was just darkened.

My best friend and her daughter did this about a year ago. My friend has dyed hair (hers is naturally brown and it’s dyed blonde) and they took her hair. It was her daughters idea because a little girl in her school was going through chemo and she wanted to help out. Anyway, it was hard for my friend…her hair was down to her waist…but she just kept thinking that she was helping someone else and that’s what got her through it.

I’ve never let my hair get long enough to be able to do that but I would absolutely love to…it’s a great thing :)

No, I just checked on their website, you can have colored hair, but no bleached hair.
