How can you live forever young?

I have this friend who is so pessimistic. So pessimistic that he thinks he’ll die so soon when he’s perfectly healthy with no vices. I know that death is just around the corner but for someone to think about it in a regular basis is crazy. Because he is so positive that he’ll die soon, he’s making art works that reflect his self. His arts are morbid. He said something really interesting though, “My body will not live eternally and will soon perish but my works will and are forever young.” This statement got me listening to this song for a million times! lol How bout you? How can you make yourself live forever young? (^^,)

physically you cant live forever, obviously. and you cant mentally either…as nothing lasts forever, absolutley eveything will eventually die. but you can be young at heart.

Answer #2

If any of us knew that, we’d be rich…..:)

Your friend is depressed and obsessed with death and dying….he could probably use some counseling….He also sounds like a bit of a drama queen…..”My body will not live enternally……..”

In your mind I suppose but you’ll come off as kind of silly

Okay I’m sorry I think I didn’t clear myself out. I thought this post will gain positive responses. I guess I needed to add more details. I think he really is depressed. Its actually kind of ironic that his depression helps him in a positive way. He can make creative ideas that are obvious in his artworks. Although they are morbid, these artworks are profitable so it helps him financially. I think what he was trying to say was, everything he creates today, like his artworks, is his own way of living forever young. Like Shakespeare and his literature. We all know that he passed away but his works are still alive and fresh to everybody. (^^,)

Answer #5

That being said, how do you think can you live forever?

Answer #6

hmm, i would say even if you created soemthng, it wont mke you live on foreverr, for a while longer yes, but not forever. in tme people will forget all about shakespear and picasso and wont even know who they are, i would say its impossible to keep something intact and safe for the rest of time and be remembered by it by the people who will live during that time.because as new generations come, they change and what they remember also changes, one day someone creates something and is alive, then they die and people might remember them nd there work, but in time they’ll forget or the work just wont be as important anymore, so its discarded. a good movie to watch would be “the tme machine” its an older movie but its really good, ti shows that in time eerything/people changes and what used to be popular and important is now lost and forgotten

Answer #7

Very well said. You have a solid point. But I would still like to believe that someone can make his/her legacy last forever. I can’t imagine this world without Shakespeare. It’s also like saying Jesus Christ will not last forever. I am not a believer of him or any kind of God. But I doubt if people will forget about ‘The Gods’. Unless you believe that someday everybody will be an atheist. (^^,)
