What was it like to live in the 60s?

For those who were lucky enough to live in the 60s! Were you a big Beatles fan and did you ever go their concerts? What was it like? I’m so jelous, I was born in the wrong time period where I have to live with Justin Beiber who I could shoot by the way!

I was born in the 70s, but my husband was born in the late 50s, so he was a kid/tween through the 60s. He says that the Vietnam war and the Cold war were going on so there was still tension , but generally it was a lot more laid back and easy going. There was of course no video games and the majority of homes still had black and white TVs. The Beatles were great and so was alot of the Hippy folk music of the time. Rock n’ Roll really got going in the 60s. He says in general people were happier and not so stressed out as they are now.

It really depends on the age the person was in the 60s as to how they viewed it. For those in their teens and early 20s the 60s was all about free love, experimentation, burning your bras, and not conforming to what the man wants. Hallucinigans such as acid werent illegal yet and were widely used in outside concerts and by highly respected people because the consequences werent yet known and acid was thought to bring you to another level of conciousness and being and was used in spiritual journeys. Like i said though, it depends on how old a person was during this time period….im sure the older generation viewed the 60s as a nightmare lol.
