123z is an idiot for saying what they did. You DON’T do ANY piercing yourself. That’ll just lead to problems. Tell your dad the TRUTH about piercings - they’re nothing more than forms of body art and self expression. They’re not gross or anything like that, they don’t make you any more or less attractive than you already are and you WILL still be able to get a job if you have piercings. If you’d ever decide you didn’t want it anymore, it can easily get removed. Simply take the jewlery out and never put it back in. The hole will close up and you’ll never be able to tell you even had it. Maybe you could get a fake lip ring and put it on. Make sure he sees it and see how he reacts to it. If you can’t buy one, you could make one out of something like foil. Maybe if he actually seen what it’d look like he’d see it wasn’t all that bad.

You have to be at least 18 years or older to get it without parental consent, however if you have a parent/legal guardian go with you when you have it done, it shouldn’t be a problem. You just need a parent/legal guardian there so that they can sign forms/agree to everything since your not yet legal. So if your dad won’t change his mind even after you’ve talked to him and kinda begged him a little bit, you’ll just have to wait until your 18 and can get one without his consent.

Hopefully this helps you, if you need anything else… let me know.

Generally, if your parents won’t let you get a piercing that’s how it’s going to be. Sometimes it’s in your best interest; most employers classify facial piercings as health risks or unprofessional appearance. You can talk to him about wearing a clear retainer after you’ve gotten it pierced and it’s healed, but please keep in mind you won’t be able to change the jewelery until it’s COMPLETELY healed.

I got my lip pierced when I was 15 in Virginia, but most states have varying ages so it’s best to call ahead to whatever shop you want to go to and ask about the age requirement. Generally, you have to have a photo ID and a parent/LEGAL guardian with an ID to consent for you.

You should never do any piercing yourself due to the risk of doing it improperly causing infection, rejection, and scarring.

You can get your lip done by your self if your 18 and older if not need a parent or guardian and you can convince him by saying there are clear studs that you cant see butt just tell him its not that bad having a hole in your lip and say if you dont like it I will take it out

well peircings have NOTHING to do with sexuality there wounds, holes in your flesh with jewllerey in them having one doesnt change your sexuality or make you “gay” all of a sudden you can get a lip ring in most places at around age 16 without a parent if you were younger than this youd need to bring a parent with I.d to consent to it but make sure you have at least 1 parents permission otherwise theres no point in getting soemthing they wont allow the process is simple they clamp your lip, stick a hollow surgical steel needle through then thread the jewellery through the needle but be aware that school with a dress code wont allow them and most jobs consider facial piercings unattractive and unprofessional
