How does the new "links" section work?

I know what it’s for, I just have a couple of questions about it.

[1] When someone likes my link, why do I not receive any notification, like I would if someone liked something else of mine?

[2] I noticed it said good links will be rewarded. How exactly does that work?

The easiest thing to answer is #2 “good links will be rewarded”….the plan is to sort things by the number of likes, hopefully soon. And, include stuff that’s liked all around the site so that it’s a reflection of what people like, both here, and across the web.

We already send out FAR too many emails to members…you really want one more? We can make sure it’s in the ‘alerts’ drop down and in the ‘everything else’ tab….but we’re not going to add an email notification for that.

Thanks Jeremy. That is what I meant, I wasn’t receiving any “alerts” when someone liked my link. I do not wish to receive emails.
