Why do you lie?

When i do lie, its white lies to either not hurt a persons feelings or to avoid an uncomfortable situation that doesnt matter. For example, while working in retail i had to contantly lie to customers who feel the need to talk too much about personal topics while your checking them out, a register is no place for a religious, moral, or political debate. I would always say i had no opinion or would just smile and nod. Those lies were neccasary in a work environment. Also, everyone is guilty of telling white lies to not hurt a persons feelings. Your friend asks if shes fat, your not going to say yes, your going to say no, your beautiful doll. White lies are neccasary in situations.

I lie to Get of things that I don’t want to do…..most of the time if I don’t feel like doing it i’ll still do it.Unless I don’t want,B/C theirs a diffence Trust me! I lie so I won’t hurt people’s feelings,people call me rude,mean,and other s* when I say whats on my mind which is some bull.And I also lie b/c I can and want too. It’s just as simple as that. :]

i do not lie anymore. i see no point in it i rather be straightforward. but when i did in the past it was for stupid reasons, hiding things about myself.

Lying is necessary for society to function. Sometimes we think things that we dont necessarily really feel or want, and it is best we dont express those feelings. Sometimes we think things that are true, but we dont express those thoughts because it could cause us harm (like losing our jobs or affect our relationships with others). Sometimes we want to protect ourselves. Sometimes we simply dont want to disturb the status quo. Lies are very necessary for human societies. While it is nice to pretend that it would be noble to go without them, it would be completely impractical. And I lie for all those reasons. If I just am not in the mood to go out with a friend, I make up an excuse. Simply because telling the truth (which I have tried before) has led to arguments and offense. It isnt worth it.

because i get scared of what people will think, if they will judge me or not. but usually to get myself out of a bad situation i put myself in

i lie because if i don’t i’m scared my parents won’t execpt me at all i lie because i’m not perfect i lie because i think i’m not good enough
